Second Grade Challenge
Are you ready to take your learning to new depths? If so, you are ready to complete a Second Grade Challenge. Each Second Grade Challenge has a point value next to it. When you reach 500 points your name will appear on the website. Each additional time you reach 500 points, a gold star * will appear next to your name. How many gold stars can you get this year???
If you would like to participate in the challenge, write your name, the number of the challenge you are completing, the amount of points your challenge is worth, and the answer on a sheet of paper. Turn the answer in to your teacher.
** The students have not yet learned all of the concepts below. They will have had a lesson on each concept by the end of the quarter.
Language Arts
L12. 35 points = Create your own crossword puzzle using a week of your vocabulary words.
L13. 20 points= Create a word search using 10 of your spelling words.
L14. 20 points = Write three sentences. In the first sentence use the word big, in the second sentence use the word bigger, and in the third sentence use the word biggest.
L15. 25 points = Write two pairs of homonyms. Use each homonym correctly in a sentence.
L19.15 points= Write 4 pairs of synonyms.
L20.15 points =Write 4 pairs of antonyms.
Math
M13. 30 points= Ask the people in your house what their favorite season is. Graph the results.
M14. 30 points=Create and solve your own addition word problem using two-digit numbers.
M15. 15 points= Draw tally marks equal to,25, 36, and 42
M16.8 10 points Write and solve a number sentence with regrouping and a number sentence without regrouping.
M17.9 30 points= Make a pictograph showing the seasons the people in your family like the best
